The students go off to find the Gromble, and in the process scare quite a lot of humans.

Cut to Sam and Sheila, sitting in the Channel Four newsvan. Ickis, Oblina, and Krumm confront them and demand to know what Snyder has done with the Gromble (figuring they know because they were talking about Snyder). The girls tell them they couldn't get in to see Snyder, so Oblina suggests that they go check out Snyder's house. Sheila, nervous, speeds a bit on the way there and gets pulled over by a police officer. Sam reveals to him that they are on their way to Snyder's house, but Oblina scares him away and they continue on.

Meanwhile, Sandy Candy is covering the story of the mass monster sightings popping up all over the city. Virtoy, vanless, shows up and gets laughed at. But then Candy is scared off by one of the Academy students. Virtoy runs into the frightened police officer, and finds out that the girls were going to Snyder's house. She chases a kid off his bike and pedals off.

The girls and the monsters get to the house. It's very gothic, with lots of gargoyles all over the outside. They knock on the door but noone answers. Oblina insists on going in anyway and they climb up to an open second-story window. While wandering through the strangely-decorated rooms, Sam and Sheila tell the monsters about their jobs as interns at a news station, and about their boss's rival, Candy. Sheila shows a photograph of Candy recieving some kind of award to Krumm, and he eats it. Sam suggests that they check the basement.

Virtoy gets to the house and knocks on the door, and there is no answer. Frustrated, she climbs up to an open window and climbs inside. She comes across a copy of the blueprint, the first time she's seen one. A cursory examination reveals to her that the new sewer is unsafe, and it appears that Snyder does not have a full grasp of how to draft a correct architechtural design. She picks up the phone and dials the Mayor.
