Alice is a goon, a huge, hairy creature which can only speak in mumbled 'Goon-talk'. Although she started out as the SeaHag's servant, kidnapping and attempting to kill Popeye and his friends, she became an official 'good guy' when Popeye liberated her from her slavery. Her first appearance was in 1933-34's Plunder Island, a 32-week-long Sunday page continuity.
