I remember the commercials for this movie as a kid. I just bought the DVD and will be watching it with family on Christmas Eve, after waiting 43 years! Paul Tripp was a caring and gentle man.
Wish he was around today! Happy Holidays!

I was fortunate enough to see this film as a child in the theaters and every year my friend Craig and I would sit in the theater and watch all five showings. As we grew older and moved away from each other the movie became almost mythological to me. It was never shown on any TV stations in Philadelphia, but with the invention of the VCR I found a copy of the movie and called Craig who now lived in Chicago. We got together just to watch it one more time together. needless to say our wives thought this was weird, but I'm sure you guys understand. Sam Whipple for President!!

Sweet website.
My sister and I loved "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't" and looked forward with much anticipation to its limited release around a few theaters in Brooklyn (& the other 4 boroughs) during the weeks leading up to the holidays in the 60's. I see that it is for sale now and I'll just have to get my hands on it & maybe get my sister Tee one as a gift!

This is a wonderful tribute to one of the movies most charming, fanciful, tuneful but neglected Yultiide Fantasies.

I first saw "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't" at The Wakefield Movie Theater In The Bronx,NYC in December,1966. I fell in love with the movie from the start and I've continued to see it at the movies and on tv since.

The script is charming and witty, the songs tuneful and fun and the performances from the cast enchanting.

i was lucky enough to meet Mr.&Mrs.Tripp and Mr.Fox and they still have wonderful memories of working on the film.

Thank You for bringing back the memories of "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't",

Kevin S.Butler

P.S.Mr.Paul Tripp worked on two more kids tv shows:"It's Magic!"saturday nights on CBS TV in the mid 1950's and he was the second host/performer of WOR TV Ch.9 NYC's"Looney Tunes Show"weekday evening from Monday January 12, 1959 to Friday July 10,1959.

Iromically?

The first host/performer of Ch.9's"Looney Tunes Show"was Sonny Fox' former traveling companion on CBS TV's"Let's Take A Trip"..Ms.Ginger Macmanus.
